Killing Eve star Jodie Comer is being eyed to star as Furiosa for George Miller’s upcoming Mad Max prequel.
Earlier this week, Mad Max director George Miller teased his upcoming Furiosa prequel, revealing that Charlize Theron won’t be starring in the film. At first the director believed that they could de-age Theron with CGI but he doesn’t believe the technology is far ahead enough for it to realize his vision. With Theron out of the Furiosa role, Miller has no choice but to cast someone else for the highly-anticipated Mad Max prequel.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Jodie Comer is being eyed to take on the role of Furiosa for the upcoming film. Best known for her work in Killing Eve, Comer is an up-and coming-actress who also recently starred as Rey’s mother in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. She will next be seen in Ryan Reynolds’ action comedy Free Guy, further proving his rising prominence in Hollywood. However, Comer isn’t the only actress being sought after the coveted Mad Max role.
Earlier this year it was revealed that Anya Taylor-Joy met with George Miller to discuss a role in the upcoming Furiosa prequel. Of course, the Furiosa prequel will feature tons of other characters, so we could easily see both Taylor-Joy and Jodie Comer share the screen for the Mad Max film. As for the film’s male lead, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is rumored to be starring in the film, though there are no details regarding his role at the moment.
