The Avengers director weighs in on the Snyder Cut!

Avengers director Joe Russo recently shared his thoughts on the news of Zack Snyder’s Justice League coming to HBO Max.

Both Joe Russo and Zack Snyder are no stranger to directing massive superhero movies in recent years. The Russo Brothers are coming off Avengers: Endgame while Snyder is diving back into the genre to complete his version of Justice League. Superhero projects have a ton of stakes attached to them, which is why many studios tend to interfere with the creative process. In rare cases, fans get to see the director’s true intention either in theaters or with a version released later on like the Snyder Cut.

During a recent interview with Comic Book Movie, Avengers director Joe Russo shared his thoughts on Zack Snyder’s Justice League coming to fruition and what his experience has been like with Marvel Studios:

“I think it’s always great when a director’s original vision can find its way to the screen. We have been very, very fortunate in our careers that everything we did for Marvel, we would call our director’s cuts. They [Marvel] were very gracious and deferential, and very supportive of our vision for those movies, and there’s nothing sitting on the editing room floor that we suddenly want back into those films. We worked very hard at what the current cut of those movies are, so we’re very fortunate to have released our director’s cut on all four of those films.”

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
