Is the wraith coming to 'Mortal Kombat'?

Mortal Kombat Noob Saibot Joe Taslim

Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim revealed whether Mortal Kombat fans will see Noob Saibot in the upcoming film on HBO Max.

With Mortal Kombat heading to HBO Max in April, a new interview with Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim touched on the potential arrival of Noob Saibot, the undead version of the Lin Kuei assassin. For audiences not familiar with Noob Saibot, he’s who the original Sub-Zero becomes after being murdered by Scorpion in the first Mortal Kombat game. And since the first trailer teased a bloody fight between Scorpion and Sub-Zero, it’s not impossible that Noob Saibot is being set up for an appearance in a future sequel.

ComicBook.com spoke to Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim on a visit to the Mortal Kombat set, and when asked about Noob Saibot the star explained there is an element of the wraith in the fighter in the new movie. It’s set to be a brutal adventure, with director Simon McQuoid revealing there was plenty of drums of fake blood on set during production. Take a look at Joe Taslim discussing Noob Saibot and Sub-Zero below.

“He has humanity inside of him and when he’s Noob Saibot, it’s just totally pitch black. I think you can see that in [Sub-Zero’s] character when the movie’s out.”

Do you think Noob Saibot will play a role in Mortal Kombat? Or will Simon McQuoid save him for a sequel? Sound-off in the comments below!
