John Krasinski discussed whether or not he’s been contacted by Marvel about starring in the Fantastic Four.
While the previous feature film adaptations of the Fantastic Four comics were not well-received, to say the least, most fans are optimistic about the team’s cinematic future now that Marvel Studios has obtained the screen rights to the characters. Even before Disney officially acquired 20th Century Fox, fans have been proposing potential candidates to play key roles in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four project and John Krasinski remains a popular choice for the role of Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic.
During an interview with ComicBook.com, John Krasinski seemed to be amused and shocked when informed of his resemblance seemingly being used in the Fantastic Four comics. However, when asked about the possibility of seeing him portray Mr. Fanastic in a Marvel Studios’ project, John Krasinski revealed that he has not been contacted by the company about the role:
I would love to do it. I think to be a part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a part would be amazing. I genuinely have had no conversations or don’t know anything that’s happening with that.”
John Krasinksi also noted that he’s just as much in the dark about the Marvel’s plans for the future as the rest of us, saying, “I’m awaiting Kevin’s announcements of what the hell’s happening with that as much as you are.”
