The fourth installment of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick franchise has been officially pushed back to the summer of 2022.

The first John Wick film was released back in 2014 and helped put Keanu Reeves back on the map in a big way. All three installments opened to critical praise and increasingly bigger box office numbers. The fourth film was already in development but, like so many other projects, it suffered from a few notable delays.

Earlier this month it was revealed that the upcoming John Wick film would be pushed back due to concerns over the coronavirus. Originally the upcoming action film was to be released on May 21st of 2021 which, oddly enough, would have sent it on a collision course with Keanu Reeves’ other upcoming film, Matrix 4. Now, however, the release date of John Wick 4 has officially been moved to May 27, 2022.

What do you all make of this new release date? Are you glad to see that the people behind the upcoming John Wick film are taking their time with it? What do you think of the Keanu Reeves franchise? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum:

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

Directed by Chad Stahelski from a script written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Anjelica Huston, and Boban Marjanovic.

John Wick 4 is set to be released on May 27, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding John Wick and be sure to check out and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for new video content!
