It seems another Batman villain is joining the Joker universe! The film’s newest trailer confirms a familiar face (or two) will be facing off against Arthur Fleck.
The upcoming Joker sequel is expanding the universe in a lot of ways. Arthur Fleck will be staking his claim in Arkham Asylum, joined by the ever-enigmatic Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. The film increases in scale with lavish music numbers that truly show the film’s massive budget. However, it also increases its scope within the Batman mythos.
The closed captions on the newest trailer for the sequel confirm that Harvey Dent will be joining the Joker universe. For those less familiar with the aliases of Batman villains, Harvey Dent is the real identity of the villainous Two-Face. However, it seems Dent will be relatively sane in this film when compared to Arthur Fleck.
Joker Makes Two-Face The True Villain
This trailer wasn’t the first fans saw of Two-Face in Joker, however. Set photos from when the sequel was filming confirmed that Harvey Dent would be a part of the plot in some way, seemingly putting him as the prosecutor of Arthur Fleck’s case. This would obviously put him at odds with the film’s “hero,” as well as his lovesick Harley Quinn set to make her premiere.
It’s currently unclear if Harvey Dent will actually have the mantle of Two-Face in the Joker sequel. The trailer suggests that he’s sane of mind (at least for now). It’s possible that the movie will serve as an origin story for the character, like the first film was for Arthur Fleck. Maybe Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn will even be the one to scald him with acid!
