‘Joker’ & ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Make Oscars Shortlists In Technical & Score Categories

The 92nd Oscars have announced the shortlists for numerous categories, and both Joker and Avengers: Endgame have made it on two shortlists each.

The Academy Motion Pictures of Arts and Sciences announced shortlists for nine categories at the upcoming Oscars ceremony: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film and Visual Effects. With the year coming to a close, members of the Academy are narrowing the field for what films will compete for the five slots at the Oscars ceremony.

Joker, which is considered one of the most prominent contenders of this new season for the Oscars in numerous categories has made the shortlists in at least two categories: Makeup & Hairstyling and Music (Original Score). As for Avengers: Endgame, it joins Joker on the shortlist for Music (Original Score) and Visual Effects.

The Academy begins voting for the nominations on January 2, 2020 up to January 7, 2020. The nominations will be announced on January 13, 2020.

DC Universe Debuts ‘Doom Patrol’ Character Posters

Doom PatrolAlong with the premiere of the first teaser for Doom Patrol, DC Universe also debuted a collection of character posters for each of the members of perhaps the strangest team of characters to be adapted in live-action form for DC Comics.

In particular, these new character posters highlight Timothy Dalton's The Chief, Diane Guerrero's Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade's Cyborg, April Bowlby's Elasti-Woman, Matt Bomer's Negative Man and Brendan Fraser's Robotman. These posters each follow unique designs that reflect the nature of each character and tease unique personalities amongst the group as well.
