The first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux has finally dropped, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming DC sequel starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

It seems that every week the internet switches its perspective on Joker: Folie à Deux. Depending on the time of day, it could either be the film to cure all of DC’s worries, or a waste of money guised as a jukebox musical. This left many fans to sit with their hands folded awaiting the trailer to make their mind up on if they’ll go out to see the film.

That Joker: Folie à Deux trailer has finally arrived. The first footage from the Joker sequel reveals a version of the project no fan could have imagined. Phoenix and Gaga come out in full force for the follow-up to the first film, giving fans a twisted new take on the Clown Prince of Crime and his Queen of Corruption. The full trailer can be seen below.

Joker: Folie à Deux’s Musical Maladies

Joker: Folie à Deux continues to split fans with the official confirmation that the project will be a musical. While some praise the sequel for taking a risk that many Hollywood projects are too afraid to take, others are simply turned off by the mere idea of it.

This isn’t helped by the fact that Joker: Folie à Deux will reportedly feature 15 songs, none of which at this point in time are original to the project. This makes the project a jukebox musical, which is widely disdained by even those who like musicals due to often being lazy rehashes of popular music. Only time will tell if Joker: Folie à Deux will overcome this stigma to reach the insane heights of its predecessor, or if the project will be the latest in a long line of flops from Warner Bros. and DC.

Joker: Folie à Deux is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.  Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the sequel and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
