Director David David Ayer re-confirmed Jared Leto’s Joker was never intended to wear the Batman suit in Suicide Squad.
One of the officially licensed toys tied to David Ayer’s Suicide Squad was a Hot Toys figure of Jared Leto’s Joker in the Batman costume. Of course, Jared Leto’s Joker never donned a Batman costume in the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad, leading some fans to wonder if the Clown Prince of Crime was originally going to wear such an outfit in David Ayer’s original cut of the film.
However, David Ayer recently took to Twitter to address a fan’s question on the matter and reiterated that Jared Leto’s Joker with the Batman suit was only a concept through DC’s merchandising side. The Suicide Squad director did note that the design for the Jared Leto Joker toy is brilliant and it would have been fun to see the villain wear the Batman suit in the film.
