Set photos of Phoenix in his Joker attire smoking cigarettes have already surfaced, but Phillips has a solid grasp on his own social media presence to help promote this highly-anticipated DC film that will be the first in numerous standalone stories separate from the ongoing DC Extended Universe films. For a film that many written off initially, fans are growing more excited to see how Phillips, Phoenix and the rest of the cast and crew tell this original story about the Clown Prince of Crime.

Are you excited to see more from Joker? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news from DC Films.

Here is the plot synopsis for the film:

‘Joker’ centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais,  Shea Whigham and Robert De Niro.

Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
