Jon Favreau Shares BTS Photo With ‘The Lion King’ Voice Cast

The Lion King Simba Timon Pumbaa The Lion King Director Jon Favreau shared a new behind-the-scenes picture with Donald Glover, Seth Rogan, and Billy Eichner.

Disney’s live-action re-imagining of The Lion King follows Maleficent, Cinderella, Pete’s Dragon, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, with DumboAladdin, Mulan, and more coming soon. Favreau shared a new behind-the-scenes picture on Twitter with Glover, Rogan, and Eichner from a voice recording session for the film. You can check out the picture below:

Directed by Jon Favreau with a script from Jeff Nathanson. The film stars the star-studded voice cast of Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, Eric Andre as Azizi, and Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, with James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa from the original 1994 film.

Composer Hans Zimmer will also return to score with Elton John reworking his songs from the original for the upcoming film. John is also set to create a new song with Beyoncé and Tim Rice. Songs from the original film, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Hakuna Matata,” “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” and “Circle of Life” will also be included in the live-action film.

The Lion King opens in theaters July 19, 2019.

Aquaman DC Comics Arthur Curry MeraDC Comics has unveiled the Aquaman movie-themed variant covers for the Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth crossover event.

DC Comics’ Justice League and Aquaman series’ will soon crossover for a story arc titled Drowned Earth and the publisher is releasing variant covers based on Warner Bros.’ upcoming film about the King of Atlantis to commemorate the event. Now, six variant covers featuring Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry and Amber Heard’s Mera have been released with illustrations from artists Francis Manapul, Francesco Mattina, Lucio Parillo, Ben Oliver, Dale Keown, and Nicola Scott.

Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth #1 will be available on October 31, 2018.

From Warner Bros. Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman will be released in theaters on December 21, 2018.
