Is Sadie Sink on her way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Joseph Quinn gives his thoughts on the recent rumor that his Stranger Things co-star is cast as the iconic X-Men heroine Jean Grey.

The rumor mill has been flowing hard these past few months with the MCU, with the X-Men reboot getting most of the spotlight. As pre-production ramps up on the upcoming film, dozens of actors have had their names thrown into the ring to play a mutant. Perhaps the one with the most staying power is Sadie Sink, who is reportedly the frontrunner for the role of Jean Grey, and would be the third Stranger Things star to join the MCU after The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ Joseph Quinn and Thunderbolts‘ David Harbour.

Joseph Quinn was asked about this rumor directly during his recent appearance at Megacon in Orlando, as reported by ScreenRant. Surprisingly, the Stranger Things star was pretty candid about the idea of Sadie Sink joining the MCU as Jean Grey. While Quinn far from confirmed Sink’s role in the X-Men, the actor was fairly confident that she would nail the part, stating “I think she would be brilliant in that role.”

Stranger Things Are Coming For The X-Men

Sadie Sink wasn’t the only Stranger Things cast member floated to join the MCU with the X-Men reboot. Apropos of nothing following his response to the Jean Grey rumor, Joseph Quinn added that Charlie Heaton (who plays Jonathan in Stranger Things) might play a good Wolverine. While this one was likely him simply musing on the possibilities, it does show his openness to reuniting with his television co-stars on the silver screen.

Of course, when it comes to the MCU, no rumor is true until the trades start reporting the casting confirmation. There’s no certainty that Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey in the X-Men reboot, nor that Charlie Heaton will play Wolverine. Joseph Quinn was simply engaging with the possibility of his Stranger Things castmates joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside him. If anything, with how serious Marvel’s snipers are, he wouldn’t have been able to say anything if he knew something!
