Joseph Quinn is gearing up to join the MCU! The actor speaks on his preparations to play the Human Torch in The Fantastic Four reboot.
When it was announced that Joseph Quinn would be taking up the mantle of the Human Torch in the MCU, fans were skeptical. While he’s a great actor, he didn’t have the vibe many fans expected for The Fantastic Four‘s big reboot film. However, it seems Quinn is more dedicated than ever to the part, revealing his intense training to play the iconic hero.
“I’m eating stuff and lifting things,” Quinn explained in a recent interview with GQ. “I’m working with someone great – if you’d cast someone as a personal trainer, you’d cast him, he’s a rhinoceros of a man. He’s very good at his job, he gets me to do the things I don’t want to do. You can’t think. You just have to go with it.”
It’s a relief to hear that Joseph Quinn is taking the part seriously. Given the Human Torch is constantly covered in flames, it’d be easy to skimp out on training to play the character in the MCU. Yet it seems he’s going full throttle when it comes to preperation for the reboot. In fact, he might be more excited for The Fantastic Four than some fans!
Joseph Quinn Reveals The Actor He’s Most Excited To Work With
Most eyes have focused on the principal cast of The Fantastic Four, with mega-stars like Pedro Pascal heading the MCU’s reboot. However, it seems Joseph Quinn is making heart eyes at a lesser-known cast member (at least when it comes to the younger generation). When asked what actor he’s excited to share the screen with the most, he admitted that John Malkovich is “one of [his] all-timers.”
As of current, it’s not clear who John Malkovich will be playing in the MCU’s take on The Fantastic Four. However, given Joseph Quinn visibly flinched when the interviewer asked who the actor was playing in the project, it’s likely Marvel has big plans for him in the reboot!
The Fantastic Four opens on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
