Arrow‘s Black Canary actress Juliana Harkavy recently admitted that she still hasn’t seen Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey movie.
Before Jurnee Smollett-Bell played Black Canary in Birds of Prey, the Arrowverse already featured several live-action versions of the character. The latest is Juliana Harkavy, who is expected to return as Black Canary in the Arrow spin-off series, Green Arrow and the Canaries.
While Jurnee Smolett-Bell plays the Dinah Lance version in Birds of Prey, Juliana Harkavy first appeared as Dinah Drake in Arrow season five. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Harkavy admitted that she still hasn’t seen the Birds of Prey movie, but plans on watching it at some point:
“I did not watch the Birds of Prey movie I’ve seen many clips online, and I looked up Jurnee and I looked up, you know, her music. And I actually am really excited to see the film. But I was more, the reason I’d always wanted to do the music was because it was a part of the comic book character. So, I think it’s cool that it was a part of the movie. And now it’s going to be part of the new show. I think it’s an integral part of the Black Canary. And it’s also like the quite literal thing because just so you know, she’s a canary who sings. So, I think that’s pretty cool.”

Here is the official synopsis for Birds of Prey:
“You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.”
Directed by Cathy Yan from a script penned by Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Ali Wong, Robert Catrini, and Michael Masini have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
Birds of Prey is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding the DC Extended Universe and the Arrowverse. Also subscribe to our YouTube channel for video content!
