New artwork shows Justice League star Henry Cavill with the classic black and grey Superman suit for the DC Extended Universe.
Superman, one of the most coveted characters in all of pop culture, has donned tons of suits throughout his 80-year-plus tenure in the pages of DC Comics. While we haven’t seen much variation on the hero’s outfit on his big screen outings, Superman has worn numerous ostentatious and story specific outfits that reflect the hero’s emotions and well as the story’s beats. The most popular suit that Superman has ever worn, apart from the classic blue, red and yellow one, has to be the black and silver Death of Superman outfit that echoes the moody narrative of the hard-gripping comic book story line.
Unfortunately, we never got to see the black Superman suit on the silver screen but this impressive artwork by digital artist “jscomicart” shows Justice League star Henry Cavill rocking the dope outfit for his next outing as the DC Comics icon. You can check out the fan edit below.
The concept design pretty much nails the Death of Superman suit’s aesthetic, right down to the mullet that Henry Cavill can be seen rocking. The Death of Superman suit, formally known as the Recovery suit, was seemingly set to appear in Justice League, though reports vary on its existence. Last year, Justice League helmer Zack Snyder shared a photo of Cavill’s Superman in the black and silver suit, though many believe that the image was photoshopped. Seeing as we’re only months away from Snyder’s take on Justice League, we’ll find out soon enough if we’ll actually get to see Cavill don the iconic Death of Superman suit.
What do you think of the artwork? Do you want to see Henry Cavill wear the Death of Superman suit? Sound-off in the comments!
Henry Cavill’s Superman was last seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut will arrive on HBO Max in 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding Henry Cavill, Superman and the upcoming DC Films projects. Also, make sure subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content!
