Heroes are going to war in the upcoming Justice League: Warworld animated film. It’s now been revealed who’ll be voicing the iconic DC Comics heroes of Warlord, with the list including the likes of Jensen Ackles and Darren Criss.
Justice League: Warworld is set to be the tenth installment in the Tomorrowverse, a new universe of animated DC content following the end of the DC Animated Movie Universe. The film is set to follow DC’s trinity as abducted from their homes and forced to face gladitorial combat on Mongul’s Warworld.
The official synopsis can be seen below:
“Until now, the Justice League has been a loose association of superpowered individuals. But when they are swept away to Warworld, a place of unending brutal gladiatorial combat, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the others must somehow unite to form an unbeatable resistance able to lead an entire planet to freedom.”
Ackles is set to reprise his role as Batman from Batman: The Long Halloween and Legion of Super-Heroes. Criss will also return to the role of Superman from Superman: Man of Tomorrow and Stana Katic will voice Wonder Woman following the events of Justice Society: World War II.
Who Will Survive The Warworld?
Warworld is set to unite heroes from across the DC animated timeline. Joining Jensen Ackles as Batman, Darren Criss as Superman, and Stana Katic as Wonder Woman is Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onzz, Troy Baker as Jonah Hex, Matt Bomer as Old Man, Roger C. Cross as Machiste, Brett Dalton as Bat Lash, Trevor Devall as Drifter, John DiMaggio as Lobo, Frank Grillo as Agent Faraday, Rachel Kimsey as Mariah Romanova, David Lodge as Sheriff, and Damian O’Hare as Deimos and Teddy Sears as Warlord. Robin Atkin Downes will play the film’s villain as Mongul.
The film is directed by Legion of Super-Heroes director Jeff Wamester and is written by Jeremy Adams Ernie Altbacker and Josie Campbell and will serve as the tenth film in the Tomorrowverse. No release date has been set for the film, though is expected sometime this summer.
