Justice League director Zack Snyder has confirmed that Batman’s “something darker” line was referring to the DC villain named Darkseid.
During a scene in which Batman and Wonder Woman prepare for the arrival of Steppenwolf and his sinister forces, the Caped Crusader speculates that the pending invasion is merely a precursor to “something darker.” Many believed the line was referring to the powerful villain known as Darkseid, who was planned to be the main antagonist of the second Justice League film before plans for the follow-up were altered, and now Zack Snyder has confirmed this to be true in response to a fan’s question on Vero.
