Kang the Conqueror’s Time Chair Revealed in New ‘Ant-Man’ Still

"Kang allowed us to do a new kind of Big Bad," Kevin Feige said in a new interview

Kang the Conqueror’s Time Chair has been revealed in a new Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania still. Check it out in the embed below.

The still comes from Empire Magazine which also scored some juicy quotes from Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige. Post Thanos, Kang seems like the perfect villain for the next phase of the MCU.

“He is the obvious choice as you’re dealing with the Multiverse, Feige said. “Kang allowed us to do a new kind of Big Bad. He’s a different type of villain, warring amongst themselves as much as he’s warring with our heroes.”

Feige added: “Kang’s a very powerful person, but when we meet him he’s in a position where he needs to get that power back. He has a ship and a device that would allow him to go anywhere, and anywhen he wants if he can get it online. If only he had access to genius scientists with Pym particles.”

According to Fandom, “Kang’s Time Chair is a special time-drive chair created by Kang the Conqueror which allows the user travel through time and space. It has advanced laser defensive weapons and a powerful force shield able to withstand even the most powerful blows.”

A variant of He Who Remains from the Disney Plus series Loki, Kang serves as the main villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania before taking on an even larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has already confirmed that Majors is set to return as the villainous character for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

The Ant-Man series evolves

Fittingly enough, Paul Rudd’s standalone Ant-Man movies have been small in scale compared to other solo films in the MCU. However, given Scott Lang’s integral role in Endgame, he has since become a vital part of the Avengers, and his contributions involving science thanks to his collaboration with Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) have certainly been integral. Now that Kang the Conqueror is involved, it’s safe to say that this will be Lang’s biggest threat yet.

Directed by Peyton Reed from a script written by Jeff Loveness, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania also features Michelle Pfeiffer and Bill Murray. The film is currently slated to hit theaters on February 17, 2023.
