The Boys is getting bloody! Series star Karl Urban hints that some majorly shocking deaths are in store from the very first moments of season 5.
Many modern shows market themselves on “not pulling their punches”. Stranger Things, The Boys, even Invincible to an extent. However, while they may not hold back on the violence, one of the main critiques of projects like this is that, in contrast to the minor players, their main characters have insane plot armor. The Boys is better than most in this regard, but, leading up to season 5, fans can still count the number of major character deaths on one hand.
Yet it seems as though The Boys may be putting their money where their mouth is for this final season. Karl Urban recently spoke with Variety about season 5 of the beloved Amazon Prime series. During their quick chat, he teased that some major “fatalities” are in store for the show’s final outing, and that episode one in particular holds quite a few shocking moments.
“Every season, but particularly this season, from episode one, you’re like, ‘oh wow.’ Nobody is safe. Fatalities right from the get-go. Let’s go! Last season! It’s all on!”
Who Will Die In The Boys Season 5?
When talking about what deaths are in store for a show like The Boys, it’s easier to consider the certainties before all else. For example, it’s all-but-assured that both Hughie and Starlight will make it out of season 5 unscathed, both due to the comics and their role in the show. On the other side of things, Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher is likely to be taken out not long after the death of Homelander, especially due to the ticking clock now on the character’s health.
As for the less certain deaths, it’s likely that Frenchie kicks the bucket, potentially in a mission to redeem himself from what he sees as his past mistakes. Kimiko and Mother’s Milk are likely safe, unless season 5 gives them a major arc early on. Though outside of the titular heroes of The Boys, it’s likely all remaining members of The Seven: A-Train, The Deep, Black Noir, Sister Sage, and Firecracker all end up out to pasture.
The Boys season 5 is set to release April 8th, 2026 on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for the latest news surrounding the series!
