The Matrix and John Wick star Keanu Reeves becomes Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine replacement in an awesome new fan edit.
Although it’ll still be some time until Wolverine and the X-Men make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this new concept imagines John Wick star Keanu Reeves as the clawed Marvel hero. Ever since Disney’s acquisition of Fox, fans have been dreaming about who could play some of the most iconic mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reeves is a name that consistently pops up when it comes to who should replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but it’ll be some time before fans learn what Marvel’s X-Men plans are.
At last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told fans that “It’s still early days” for the X-Men plans in the MCU, but that hasn’t stopped many from picturing who could play Wolverine, one of the most famous mutants. Digital artist “zerologhy” posted a moody black and white design of John Wick star Keanu Reeves bearing the claws while being covered in blood on Instagram. You can check out the artwork below.
Would you like to see the star play Wolverine in the MCU? Who else would you pick to replace Hugh Jackman? Sound-off in the comments!
Meanwhile, Lionsgate is moving forward with a fourth entry in the John Wick film series, but fans re-watch the third installment on all home media formats. Here is the official synopsis for Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.
Directed by Chad Stahelski from a script written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Anjelica Huston, and Boban Marjanovic.
