Keanu Reeves Becomes Neo Again For ‘The Matrix 4’ In New Image

Keanu Reeves returns to the role of Neo for The Matrix 4 in this awesome fan poster for the highly-anticipated movie.

Last week, Warner Bros. officially announced that a fourth movie set in the Matrix universe is in development, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively. Now, Instagram user “iHasanKazi” has created an awesome fan poster for the movie that features Keanu Reeves in full costume as Neo.

The artwork itself blends the old version of Keanu Reeves with the present one rather well. In it, Keanu Reeves is seen with the classic Neo outfit, as well as a gun in his hand and two more strapped to his back. Behind and below Neo is the code of the Matrix with bullets flying towards him. The image also has Keanu Reeves sporting his John Wick-style long hair and beard.

You can check out the Matrix 4 artwork with Keanu Reeves as Neo below.

The fate of Keanu Reeves’ Neo in the original Matrix films was left somewhat ambiguous. After a long battle with Hugo Weaving’s Agent Smith, Neo allows him to turn him into one of his clones. Immediately after, the creators of The Matrix, The Machines, send a surge of energy through Neo’s body that allows them to destroy Agent Smith and all of his clones. It was not made clear if Neo survived the ordeal.

The Matrix co-creator Lana Wachowski is attached to direct The Matrix 4. Wachowski wrote the script with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchel. In addition, Wachowski will also produce the film with Grant Hill. Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and globally distribute the film. The Matrix 4 is expected to begin filming in early 2020.

The Matrix and its two sequels — The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions — collectively managed to earn $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. All three installments starred Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne.
