Keanu Reeves Returns As Neo For ‘The Matrix 4’ In Awesome Image

This cool piece of fan art reveals what The Matrix 4 star Keanu Reeves could look like as Neo for his return to the beloved franchise.

Two decades ago, Keanu Reeves made his first appearance as Neo in the revolutionary sci-fi action film The Matrix. Now, Keanu Reeves is once again set to play Neo in The Matrix 4, which is being directed by Lana Wachowski, the co-creator of the franchise.

Digital artist Jakub Masłowski recently shared an impressive fan-made poster for The Matrix 4 that features an older Keanu Reeves as Neo. The one-sheet follows the tradition of featuring Neo in his black suit with the green digital codes in the background, but this incarnation of the hero has the long hair and beard that Keanu Reeves sports in the John Wick movies.

The fate of Keanu Reeves’ Neo in the original Matrix films was left somewhat ambiguous. After a long battle with Hugo Weaving’s Agent Smith, Neo allows him to turn him into one of his clones. Immediately after, the creators of The Matrix send a surge of energy through Neo’s body that allows them to destroy Agent Smith and all of his clones. It was not made clear if Keanu Reeves’ character survived the ordeal.

The original Matrix and its two sequels collectively earned a total of $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss portrayed Neo and Trinity, respectively, in all three chapters of the Matrix film series, each of which were directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski.

Lana Wachowski is directing The Matrix 4 from a script she co-wrote with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchel. The film is set to star Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. The Matrix 4 is reportedly eyeing an early 2020 production start with Lana Wachowski also serving as a producer alongside Grant Hill.

The Matrix 4 does not yet have a release date. Stay tuned for the latest news on Keanu Reeves and the future of the Matrix franchise!
