Is Kevin Feige finally stepping down from Marvel Studios? A report reveals if the long-reigning president of the MCU will take a new position.
Disney recently experienced a massive shake-up, with it being revealed that Josh D’Amaro will be taking up the CEO mantle from Bob Iger later this year. This has led many to question if the new leadership may make some changes down the ladder, or if people under him may move on to greener pastures. With, of course, the biggest figure being Marvel Studios president and MCU founder Kevin Feige.
Kevin Feige has been the center of some interesting reports over the last few years. The rumor mill has been teasing that the president will actually be stepping away from Marvel Studios once the Multiverse Saga packs up. However, the producer would still remain at Disney, simply swapping from the MCU over to being a lead for Star Wars at Lucasfilm. This theory is currently all-but-debunked, with Dave Filoni taking on the mantle of co-chair for the franchise alongside Lynwen Brennan.
Is Kevin Feige Leaving Marvel Studios?
In the reports about Disney’s new CEO, some outlets provided fans much needed insight on Kevin Feige’s future at Marvel Studios. Perhaps most notably is Deadline, who confirmed that there’s currently no plans for the president to step away from the MCU, with Feige focused on finishing out the Multiverse Saga and starting the franchise’s next phase.
“[Kevin] Feige’s future at the company is always a topic the town loves to gossip about. That said, insiders don’t expect a change anytime soon as Feige is focused on delivering the next Avengers movie in December as well as relaunching the X-Men franchise.”
For anyone familiar with Kevin Feige’s history, having gotten his start as a producer on the original X-Men films, it’s an insane proposition to suggest that he’d be stepping away from the MCU as soon as Disney got the mutants inside of their House of Mouse. Still, with Marvel Studios’ currently rocky reputation, it’ll be interesting to see how their future continues under Feige’s reign.
