What Avengers might get cut?

Are the new additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe being left in the dust? Marvel’s Kevin Feige confirms that some cuts will need to be made for the upcoming Avengers films.

One of the most exciting things in the MCU right now is the prospect that the next Avengers films will end up being even bigger than the prior ones. However, it seems it may not be as big as some fans might think. According to Kevin Feige, not every hero will be making it to the silver screen as production ramps up on the crossover event.

“I rarely speak in absolutes like that, right?” Feige explained in a recent interview with io9. “The notion of never ever seeing somebody again, we’ve got Tim Blake Nelson in a movie coming up next year, right? So I never talk in absolutes like that.”

“But the truth is, you know, we’re going to tell a story in these Avengers movies, and there won’t be room for 100,000 characters in it,” he confirmed. “So choices will have to be made, that’s for sure. But that doesn’t mean you won’t ever see anybody ever again.”

There’s some obvious cuts from the MCU that won’t be making it into the next Avengers movies. It’s not likely Kevin Feige would be salivating to bring back the Starforce from Captain Marvel or the supporting casts from dozens of episodes of What If…?. However, it’s also likely that some well-known Marvel heroes will be getting cut from the crossover.

What MCU Heroes Might Be Cut From ‘Avengers’?

Kevin Feige is likely set on bringing back all the headlining heroes from the MCU (and beyond!) for the next Avengers films. This narrows the field when it comes to deciphering who Marvel might not bring back. It’s possible that some heroes without starring roles, such as Black Knight or America Chavez, might take a backseat for the upcoming projects.

However, it’s also important to note that the Avengers movies will likely have two different purposes. Kevin Feige likely wants Avengers 5 to celebrate the MCU and Avengers: Secret Wars to celebrate Marvel outside of it. As such, many mainstays like Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, or Daredevil might appear in the former but not the latter.
