Kiersey Clemons has yet to sign on to return for Ezra Miller’s The Flash so Warner Bros. may be looking elsewhere for their big screen Iris West, an insider tells Heroic Hollywood.
Earlier today, a report revealed that Andy Muschietti’s The Flash movie is looking for a new Iris West. Kiersey Clemons was originally cast in the role for Zack Snyder’s Justice League until she was removed entirely from the studios final cut of the film. According to the report, the casting call states that the studio is looking for an actress 21-25 years old to play Iris West opposite Miller’s The Flash. The report may be accurate as an insider tells us that Ezra Miller is the only actor signed on to return for the solo film as Kiersey Clemons and Billy Crudup have yet to sign new contracts. Now, this doesn’t mean that their return is totally nixed, as they could still wind up signing on to reprise their roles when all is said and done.
Ezra Miller’s The Flash was on track to begin production in May, but its start date will likely be delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint storyline. For those unaware, the Flashpoint comic book storyline followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.
