One of the artists who worked on a now-cancelled DC game recently revealed a full look at a Kingdom Come inspired Batman suit.
Although players will become members of the Bat-Family in Gotham Knights when it arrives in 2021, newly revealed concept shows off an incredibly intimidating Batman suit apparently inspired by the Kingdom Come storyline written by Mark Waid with art by Alex Ross and letters by Todd Klein. We’ve previously seen art of the moody looking cowl before, where we assumed it was inspired by Flashpoint since the red lenses looked eerily similar to Thomas Wayne’s costume.
The new art comes from Justice League artist ‘jsmarantz’ on Instagram, and highlights a mechanical set of armor for (presumably) an older Bruce Wayne. The artist added a Kingdom Come hashtag at the end of his caption as well as Damian Wayne, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The other images in the post show off the intricate details of the bulky power armor. Although it’s not an exact replica of the suit from Mark Waid’s Kingdom Come, the influences are definitely clear. Presumably the design was for the canceled Batman game which would’ve supposedly featured Damian Wayne, but that remains unconfirmed. Take a look at the Kingdom Come inspired Batman suit below.
What do you think of the Kingdom Come Batman suit from the Justice League artist? Would you like to play as this version of the Dark Knight? Should Mark Waid’s Kingdom Come get its own game or movie adaption? Sound-off in the comments!
Here is the synopsis for Gotham Knights:
Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin – to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. You must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save Gotham from chaos.
