While this sits a decent bit below the franchise’s peaks for the last trilogy, it’s a great start for what is clearly meant to be a new era for one of cinema’s most beloved franchises.

However, the franchise was a clear blockbuster smash, cementing itself as a defining piece of American filmmaking.
The franchise attempted to be rebooted in 2001 with Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes, but a hellish production and poor reviews led to the plans being scrapped for over a decade. The series came back in 2011 with Rise of The Planet of The Apes to rave reviews, with that new canon continuing til today with Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes. And with Rotten Tomatoes scores like these, it seems this reboot will continue to grow!
