Is Kit Connor playing Hulkling? The Heartstopper star gives his thoughts on what may be the most pervasive rumor currently circulating in the MCU.
Ever since Joe Locke made his debut as Wiccan in the MCU, the internet has been flooded with speculation about who may be playing Hulkling alongside him. The most popular fancast for the character has been Kit Connor, who has previously shared the screen with Locke as his paramour in Heartstopper. Somewhere down the line, this speculation caught the line of the rumor mill, with many people taking it as fact that he’d already been cast.
However, Kit Connor has been very clear that there haven’t been any discussions of him joining the MCU alongside Joe Locke. While he’s addressed the rumor multiple times, he once more took aim at the speculation he’d be playing Hulkling in a recent interview on the Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast. According to Connor, even friends of his have asked about if he’s playing the role, to which he’s had to say that he is not aware of any deal.
“I think I maybe knew that name because I’d been asked about ot a couple times by friends. ‘Hey, are you playing this role?’ ‘Not that I know of.'”
Is Kit Connor In The MCU?
Of course, just because the rumor about him playing Hulkling is false, it doesn’t mean that Kit Connor can’t still join the MCU. However, it seems as though the Heartstopper star has no plans of donning the spandex anytime soon. When asked if his cosplay as Captain America in his breakout series is the closest fans will get to him playing a superhero, Connor admitted that’s a distinct possibility.
“I think certainly for a while, yeah. Joe is doing that and I’m happy to watch from the sidelines for a little while at least.”
Given how much of an acting force Kit Connor has become since starting Heartstopper, it’s a shame to hear that he currently has no desire to join the MCU, as Hulkling or otherwise. Of course, it’s possible that the rumor is true and he’s simply lying. However, it may be time for the mill to take a pause on this particular speculation and move on to another target.
