‘Riverdale’ Star KJ Apa Picks His Favorite Spider-Man & It’s Not Tom Holland

With Spider-Man: Far From Home still in theaters, Riverdale star KJ Apa recently talked about his favorite Spider-Man, but it’s not Tom Holland.

During San Diego Comic-Con, Riverdale star KJ Apa spoke with Variety and revealed the character he’d cosplay as to hide at the event’s showroom floor. After he said he’d cosplay as Spider-Man, KJ Apa briefly talked about his favorite Spider-Man. And no, it’s not Tom Holland! Apa’s favorite Spidey is actually Tobey Maguire from the Sam Raimi trilogy. Here’s the clip of Riverdale actor KJ Apa talking about his favorite Spidey:

Fans of superhero movies have been buzzing about KJ Apa. Fan edits have shown KJ Apa as a possible Wally West, Barry Allen and even Johnny Storm. Nothing is set in stone, but with all of Marvel’s upcoming movies and TV shows, KJ Apa could actually one day find himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opposite Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. You never know!

KJ Apa has played Archie Andrews on Riverdale since 2017. Meanwhile, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has had his hands full with Avengers and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Aside from Marvel, Tom Holland has been busy with other movies as well. Coming up on December 25, 2019, Tom Holland will star alongside Will Smith in Spies in Disguise. Tom Holland will also be in Chaos Walking with Daisy Ridley, but that film does not yet have a release date.

While KJ Apa stated that Holland wasn’t his favorite Spider-Man, he still praised his performance, calling him a “legend.” He also stated his massive respect for Tom Holland, but he did not hesitate to cite Tobey Maguire as his favorite Spider-Man.

Is Tom Holland your favorite Spider-Man? Where does he line up for you against the other actors that have portrayed the wall-crawler? Are the Tobey Maguire movies your favorite Spider-Man flicks? Let us know in the comments!
