New character posters for Wonder Woman 1984 have surfaced, showcasing the likes of Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig as they appear in the movie.

The first set of character posters for Wonder Woman 1984 continue to highlight the marketing’s emphasis on bright colors and snazzy costumes, while also giving fans their first look at what Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah and Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord are going to look like. Befitting of the 1980s setting, the movie seems to emphasize a sort of consumerist angle, in stark contrast to the more stark World War I setting of the previous film.

Check out the posters of Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal as their Wonder Woman 1984 characters below:

Since so little is known about the story at this time, it will be very interesting to see how the paths of these characters intersect, particularly with Steve Trevor, a man out of time. All in all, it seems like Wonder Woman 1984 could be quite a blast that stands worlds apart from its 1918-set predecessor.

Plot details on the Wonder Woman 1984 are being kept under lock and key, but the film is said to follow Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince as she comes into conflict with the Soviet Union in the 1980s and encounters a formidable new adversary named Cheetah, played by Kristen Wiig. Along the way, Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor somehow comes back from the dead, and Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord somehow factors into the story.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wigg, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theaters on June 4, 2020.
