The cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day just keeps getting bigger! Marvin Jones III, better known as Krondon, will officially play Tombstone in the MCU.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has added a lot of interesting faces to the cast of the MCU. Perhaps the most obvious is Sadie Sink in an unknown role, but it also marks the first time The Punisher has been on the big screen since 2004. Now, it seems another character has been added to the roster with Tombstone, who will officially be played by Marvin Jones III, better known as Krondon.
Krondon has been a popular fancast to play Tombstone in the MCU for years. And, with rumors that the villain was going to be a large player in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it’s not shocking that the actor ended up being cast in the iconic role, as confirmed by Deadline in a recent report.
Krondon’s History As Tombstone
Marvin Jones III has been no stranger to the world of comic books. While he hasn’t made an appearance in the MCU prior to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he did previously portray Tobias Whale in the CW series Black Lightning based on the DC comic. This gives Krondon quite a bit of experience in playing super powered mob bosses, only this time he’s leveling up to the silver screen.
Marvin Jones III has also previously played the character of Tombstone in animation, having voiced the character in the Spider-Verse franchise. While the character didn’t get much screentime, certainly less than he’ll be getting in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the role likely put Krondon on Marvel’s radar for when it was finally time to bring him to the MCU.
