‘Krypton’ Homages Superman Star Henry Cavill’s ‘Mission: Impossible’ Fist Reload

Superman Henry Cavill Mission: Impossible Krypton

Krypton pays homage to Superman star Henry Cavill by doing his famous fist reload from Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

Krypton premiered its second episode of season 2 last night on Syfy and it included a very funny Henry Cavill Easter Egg from Mission: Impossible– Fallout. One of the best moments of Mission: Impossible– Fallout had Henry Cavill in a serious fight sequence involving Tom Cruise. During the sequence Henry Cavill reloads his hands to fight as if they were guns and fans went nuts. The scene became so well known that it has now carried over into Superman mythos on the Syfy series Krypton.

During the second episode of the second season of Krypton Cameron Cuffe, who plays the grandfather of Superman Seg-El, homages the Henry Cavill reload while taking on Lobo. Fans were quick to notice the similarities and took to Twitter to ask Cuffe about it and he confirmed that he was indeed homaging Henry Cavill. You can check out his tweets and the homage below.

The DCEU continues with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Although the next Superman film hasn’t been announced or slated yet, or if Henry Cavill will reprise his role, Supergirl is one of the many projects being developed over at Warner Bros. and DC. The studio has tasked Oren Uziel to pen the script. Superman recently had a cameo in the Shazam! movie, but the character’s face was out of frame.

The Supergirl film is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. The list also includes Matt Reeves’ The Batman, a Flash standalone film, Cyborg, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman 2, The Trench, Black Adam, the Shazam!sequel, Plastic Man and New Gods.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Henry Cavill and the future of the DC Extended Universe.

Krypton airs Wednesday at 10/9c on Syfy.
