The Lanterns trailer sounds amazing! A rumored description of the footage reveals Kyle Chandler’s Green Lantern suit and some interesting details about Hal Jordan.
It hasn’t been a good week to be studio preparing a trailer for a comic book adaptation. Two Avengers: Doomsday trailers were leaked alongside one for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, it seems as though a description of the trailer for Lanterns has found its way onto the net, with a strong focus being placed on Kyle Chandler’s Green Lantern – Hal Jordan.
Perhaps the biggest reveal in the trailer is that it shows off fans’ first look at Hal Jordan’s suit as a Green Lantern. Surprisingly, it seems as though it’s fully practical. Unlike other takes on the character, Kyle Chandler will reportedly wear a suit inspired by the Injustice version of the character, which will likely have plenty of the “lines” fans complain about with superhero costumes.
“‘Hal’s suit is amazing and fully practical.'” Everything DCU reports. “Hal’s costume’s color scheme is classic (green, black and white with hints of gold in it like Hal’s power ring) Described as medieval and otherworldly, like nothing we have ever seen before in a comic book. Like an alternate Injustice suit. He nonchantly hangs it in his closet next to his jackets.”
Hal Jordan’s Conflict In Lanterns
However, it wasn’t just the suit that fans got a peek at in the Lanterns trailer. They also get a tease at the turmoil Hal Jordan will face in the upcoming series. It seems as though Kyle Chandler’s aging hero will be staring down the barrel of retirement, reportedly having to give up his powers so John Stewart can become a Green Lantern.
“Kyle Chandler is the stand out. It is hinted that if Hal doesn’t hand down the baton, John cannot become a Green Lantern.”
The conflict described in the trailer description is one Green Lantern fans haven’t seen much of, if only because Earth seems to have 20,000 rings from each corps. It seems as though Lanterns may paint Hal Jordan as both a mentor and antagonist, which could explain Kyle Chandler’s focus in the trailer and the Injustice-inspired suit.
The Green Lantern series Lanterns is currently in production for HBO. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
