Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Lashana Lynch has shared new behind-the-scenes images of herself suited up as the movie’s Maria Rambeau Captain Marvel variant.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange travel across realities to arrive on Earth-838, a universe where he was confronted by the Illuminati – a secret organization of the world’s foremost superheroes.

Amongst the heroes of this alternate world was a version of Captain Marvel who was not Carol Danvers, but her former fellow Air Force pilot, Maria Rambeau.

A Battle-Ravaged Captain Marvel

Lashana Lynch took to Instagram to share the behind-the-scenes photos of herself as Captain Marvel in the Doctor Strange sequel, featuring a look at her costume and the battle scars she endured in her battle with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

As well as offering a better look at Lashana Lynch’s Captain Marvel costume, which is rendered in darker hues than the one worn by Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, the post includes a video of Lynch having her battle-scarring applied, including plenty of blue Kree blood.

While Earth-838’s Captain Marvel didn’t make it out of her fight with the Scarlet Witch alive in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Multiverse offers infinite possibilities and so a return for Lashana Lynch as Captain Marvel cannot be ruled out.

Her Earth-616 counterpart, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, will be joining forces with that universe’s Monica Rambeau, Maria’s daughter, in next year’s The Marvels. The film will also see Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel teaming up with Carol and Maria.
