The first poster for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has landed online, marking exactly one year until the film’s release.
Charting the story of the father of the atomic bomb, J Robert Oppenheimer, who will be played by The Dark Knight‘s Cillian Murphy, the movie features an all-star cast. The first poster also teases the sort of stunning visuals audiences have come to expect from Christopher Nolan.
The poster features Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer standing before a wall of flame, as well as listing some of the other big names starring in the film.
Cillian Murphy & Christopher Nolan Reunite
Oppenheimer will be the sixth time Cillian Murphy has starred in a Christopher Nolan film, having previously appeared in all three films in the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception and Dunkirk. However, this will be the first time Murphy has been the lead in one of Nolan’s films.
The first poster for Oppenheimer was shared by the film’s official Twitter account earlier today, marking one year until the film’s release on July 21 next year.

J. Robert Oppenheimer was a nuclear physicist who worked on the United States’ Manhattan Project during World War II, which produced the world’s first nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer was director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, where the first atomic bombs were designed.
In addition to Cillian Murphy in the title role, the Oppenheimer cast also includes major names such as Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, Matt Damon as Leslie Groves Jr., Emily Blunt as Kitty Oppenheimer, Florence Pugh, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz, Kenneth Branagh, Jason Clarke, Josh Peck, and Matthias Schweighofer.
