Collider sources confirm the leaked information from Colin Trevorrow’s Star Wars: Episode IX script is accurate.

Before J. J. Abrams signed on the helm the final chapter of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was set to write and helm the conclusion of the Skywalker. However, Colin Trevorrow eventually left the project due to creative differences and J. J. Abram subsequently rework Star Wars: Episode IX after assuming directorial duties.

Of course, with many fans disappointed by the story decisions that ultimately unfolded in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, some can’t help but wonder what Colin Trevorrow had planned for the ninth chapter of the saga and YouTuber Robert Meyer Burnett posted a video with alleged details on the original story beats for the film before Abrams retooled it.

Now, Collider reports that sources familiar with Colin Trevorrow’s script have confirmed the details in Burnett’s video accurately reflect what was written in a particular draft for Star Wars: Episode 9. Among the information revealed about Colin Trevorrow’s Star Wars script was a storyline that saw Finn and Rose embark a mission to unite the galaxy in a war by igniting an ancient beacon in the old Jedi Temple, a darker storyline for Kylo Ren that concludes with the irredeemable villain being killed, and Rey’s parent still being nobodies but her future looking bright as she prepares to train the next generation of Jedi.
