‘Captain Marvel’ Star Lee Pace Gets Comic-Accurate Ronan Look In New Concept Art

Captain Marvel Lee Pace Ronan

Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel star Lee Pace gets a comic-accurate look as Ronan the Accuser in a new concept design.

Although Ronan the Accuser might be one of the weaker villains Marvel Studios has delivered over the years, he still made something of an impact thanks to his scenes setting up Thanos as a villain for future films. He might have only had a minor appearance in Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, but it was still great to see Lee Pace return to the role. The actor wore an adapted version of Ronan’s comic costume, but an impressive new concept design sees the himstep into an outfit closer to his look in the source material for his brief role in the Brie Larson movie.

Concept artist Aleksi Briclot revealed the design on Instagram, pointing out the villain’s chest symbol as the direct inspiration for the costume. He explained that he wanted to strike a balance between his look in Guardians of the Galaxy, the comics and his role as a Kree Commander. Briclot also wrote that he found the hammer more interesting as a logo rather than as an actual weapon for Lee Pace to wield when leading the Kree forces in Captain Marvel. Take a look at the concept design of the star as Ronan the Accuser below.
