Batgirl star Leslie Grace has given fans a peek behind the curtains into her grueling workout routine.

After a successful debut in In The Heights, Leslie Grace is now set to join the DC Extended Universe. HBO Max has roped Grace in to star as Batgirl for the first DC film on the streaming service. Details on the upcoming project are slim, though we do know that Brendan Fraser has been brought in to star as the villain Firefly. Joining Fraser and Grace will be J. K. Simmons, who will be reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon.

Seeing as both father and daughter Gordon are in the film, one would expect Batman to join in on the fun as well. The directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have confirmed that The Caped Crusader will pop up in the film, but they didn’t reveal which current iteration of the superhero will show up.

With production on the HBO Max project set to begin soon, Leslie Grace is currently undergoing strict workouts to get battle-ready as DC’s next superhero. Taking to Instagram, Grace shared a behind-the-scenes look at her grueling, intense workout sessions that see her lifting weights, boxing, and utilizing a bevy of resistance bands.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to direct Batgirl, which is being planned as a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the 2020 box office hit Bad Boys for Life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script.

The Batgirl movie is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of the Gotham City heroine. Barbara was last seen in a live-action feature film in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, with Alicia Silverstone playing the iconic DC Comics character.
