Is Loki the key to Steve Rogers story in Avengers: Doomsday? A rumor suggests that the two heroes may be more closely connected than fans thought.

To cut to the chase, a recent rumor came out that suggested Steve Rogers would be living on the Fantastic Four’s earth during the events of Avengers: Doomsday. This has left many questioning how this is possible, with the prevailing theory being Steve Rogers’ influence grounded the world in a techno-futurist aesthetic. However, it seems the answer is much simpler: Loki.

Loki has been the wild card going into Avengers: Doomsday. Unlike other heroes, he’s (quite literally) locked into one position. This has left him mostly outside of the scope of the rumor mill. Yet according to a new report from MyTimeToShineHello, the trickster god may have been the key to transporting Steve Rogers to a new universe.

“Sometime after Avengers: Endgame and before the end of Loki Season 2, Loki goes to see Steve, who is living with Peggy and has a son. Loki tells Steve that the TVA is going to prune this timeline because Steve is not supposed to be there and is not supposed to have a child.”

“Loki offers Steve a way out: he will move Steve and his family to a universe where they never existed, allowing them to live peacefully. That universe turns out to be the Fantastic Four’s universe.”

How Loki Caused Avengers: Doomsday

It seems that this one decision by Loki may have been the genesis for all the events to follow in Avengers: Doomsday. The rumor goes on to explain that Steve Rogers being in that new universe allows him to be contacted by some familiar faces, leading to their mission to stop the incursions from destroying the Multiverse.

“They live there for years, until the events of Avengers: Doomsday, when Doom arrives to warn the Fantastic Four about the Incursions and tells them they must travel to the MCU to stop them. Reed and Doom come up with a plan, track down Steve, explain everything to him and ask for his help. Steve agrees to return to the MCU with them so he can convince the heroes there to help.”

Given Steve Rogers will likely be the only one to know Loki is still alive in the TVA, it’ll be interesting to see how that plays into the rest of Avengers: Doomsday. It’s possible that he’s the catalyst for the Avengers learning more about the Multiverse, potentially bringing in other fan-favorite heroes like Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
