New ‘Luke Cage’ Clip Introduces Mahershala Ali’s Villainous Cottonmouth

We’re now less than three weeks away from the release of Marvel and Netflix’s Luke Cage, so the marketing campaign for the series is now in full force. Last week, we saw a couple of awesome clips from the upcoming series, but there’s already a new one, which introduces Mahershala Ali (House of Cards) as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes.

In the clip, we see Cottonmouth teaching a lesson to someone sitting just outside of the frame before the victim’s bloodied face is finally revealed. A painting of the late rapper Biggie Smalls (a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G.) can also be seen right behind Cottonmouth. Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has previously mentioned that Biggie was an influence for the series and this version of the villain.

You can watch the clip below.
