This Is Us actress Lyric Ross is the latest to join the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Ironheart series.
When Marvel Studios announced Ironheart for Disney Plus, Kevin Feige also revealed Dominique Thorne would play Riri Williams, an MIT student who built her own Iron Man suit in the comics. Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato created the character back in 2016. Riri Williams will make her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ahead of her solo series. Ironheart is now slowly building its cast ahead of filming, and per The Hollywood Reporter, the series has now added Lyric Ross to its ensemble.
Lyric Ross is said to be playing Riri Willaims’ best friend in Ironheart. Ross’ credits include roles in This Is Us, Chicago Fire, and Sirens. Into The Heights and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts star Anthony Ramos also recently joined that cast and will reportedly play the show’s villain. Chinaka Hodge from TNT’s Snowpierecer will serve as the showrunner on the upcoming Ironheart series that will begin filming in June in Atlanta.

The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.
