New artwork imagines Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin as the next version live-action Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
Matt Reeves is set to become the latest director to tackle Batman on the silver screen and like the filmmakers before him, he plans to deliver his own interpretation of the iconic DC Comics hero. While The Batman, which will star Robert Pattinson as a young Bruce Wayne, will feature several members of the titular character’s rogues’ gallery, there has been no indication that the Joker will make an appearance in the movie.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped fans from proposing potential actors to play the Joker to Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and this fan edit imagines Macaulay Culkin in the role. Of course, Macaulay Culkin is best known for his work as a child on projects such as the Home Alone films, but this concept design from digital artist “Britedit” shows that he certainly has the right physique to portray the Joker.
You can see what Macaulay Culkin could look like as The Joker in the Instagram post below.
What do you think of the artwork? Do you think Macaulay Culkin would be a good choice to play the Joker in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman? Sound-off in the comments section!
Full plot details on The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. Following the Caped Crusader during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector, The Batman will make use of the hero’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous live-action adaptations. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
