Fans finally know some details about the plot of Man of Tomorrow! James Gunn reveals new information about the highly anticipated DC Universe project.
News about Man of Tomorrow is coming hot and heavy, perhaps quicker than any comic book film before it. Two weeks ago, fans didn’t even know the project existed. Today, the internet is chocked to the brim with speculation about where James Gunn will take the DC Universe next, and what characters will be central to the plot.
Surprisingly, James Gunn isn’t playing coy when it comes to details about the plot. During a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the director revealed that Man of Tomorrow may not be the film some fans expect. Namely, this is due to the story focusing just as much on Lex Luthor as it does on Superman himself.
“I am creating the Superman sequel that we’re starting to shoot in April or so. It’s a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat.”
Who Is The Villain Of Man Of Tomorrow?
When it comes to speculation about who Lex Luthor and Superman will be teaming up to fight in Man of Tomorrow, the first name to come to mind is Brainiac. It’s a villain fans have been demanding to see on the big screen for over a decade. And, following the release of a BTS featurette by James Gunn, fans are convinced he’ll be the DC Universe’s next villain.
As for other villains, Parasite is the villain most often associated with DC projects titled Man of Tomorrow. There’s also a popular theory that James Gunn is building up to a “Crisis on Earth X” during the course of Peacemaker season 2. Though with filming set to start next year, it’s likely the truth will be revealed sooner than later!
