Is Margaret Qualley finally joining the MCU? The actress breaks her silence on potentially playing Rogue in the upcoming X-Men reboot.
Margaret Qualley has been on an absolute tear through Hollywood recently. From her Oscar-nominated performance in The Substance to her upcoming roles in project like Honey Don’t and Happy Gilmore 2, the actress has been on the top of everyone’s mind. Which, of course, means the internet fancasting her in dozens of roles for the MCU.
Perhaps the most popular role fans have wanted to see Margaret Qualley play in the MCU is Rogue. While the actress doesn’t have much in the way of action on her IMDB page, many consider her look to be picture-perfect for the iconic X-Men member. And as production on the reboot slowly begins ramping up, the rumor mill has suggested that she’s being eyed for the part.
Is Margaret Qualley Playing Rogue In The MCU?
As with any rumor, journalists have wasted no time asking Maragret Qualley about potentially joining the X-Men during her recent press tour. Sadly for fans wanting to see her as Rogue, it seems as though the actress had no idea that the rumor was circulating. And, even if she did, she doesn’t have any interest in joining a franchise like the MCU.
“Oh, I don’t think I want to commit to a franchise,” Qualley remarked to Collider. “It seems like a lot of time, and I’m scared [Laughs].”
It’s certainly a shame that Maragret Qualley has no interest in joining a franchise like the MCU given how much of a powerhouse the actress has been. Though, if the rumor is true that Marvel was eyeing her for the role of Rogue, it’s still possible that the reboot brings a similar actress on to play the iconic X-Men heroine.
