Is Magrot Robbie’s time in the DC Universe officially coming to a close? The latest report reveals the chances that the actress will return as the iconic Harley Quinn.
It’s no secret that the old DC Universe had tons of problems, from studio meddling to inconsistent quality standards. However, if there was one thing that every fan could agree was GOOD about the franchise, it was Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn. She brought the character from a C-List villain to being popular enough to contend with heavy hitters like The Flash and Green Lantern.
This has led many to wonder, with a few actors like John Cena and Viola Davis reprising their roles in the new DC Universe, will Margot Robbie also make a return? There’s no denying that Harley Quinn is a popular enough character to warrant a spotlight once more, and one would be hard-pressed to find an actress able to perform the role better than Robbie.
Will Margot Robbie Return As Harley Quinn?
Sadly, it seems as though things aren’t looking good for Margot Robbie. When writing on the potential Harley Quinn and Joker movie by Weapons helmer Zach Cregger, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that it “isn’t likely” that Robbie will return as Harley Quinn if the project was to get picked up by DC Studios.
While disappointing, it does make sense. For as much praise as John Cena and Viola Davis have gotten for their roles, Harley Quinn was THE face of the old DC Universe. Bringing Margot Robbie back would likely confuse fans more than they already are. So while it’s possible she may return as another character, it appears her time as the Harlequin of Hate is over.
