Margot Robbie Reveals Whether Or Not She’s Really Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn Joker Margot Robbie Suicide Squad

Margot Robbie briefly commented on whether or not her Harley Quinn role in the DC Extended Universe is more than just a role.

The Dark Knight star Christian Bale is known for his portrayal of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in the iconic Christopher Nolan-directed trilogy. One of the other things Bale is known for is his method acting, his ability to truly transform into the roles he’s playing, such as Dick Cheney in the upcoming film Vice. Method acting is nothing new but it did become a big topic of conversation when Suicide Squad hit theaters in 2016. Actor Jared Leto, who played the Joker in the film, infamously was rumored to have messed with cast members as the Joker in very disturbing ways.

In the film, Margot Robbie also delivered a fan-favorite performance, so some fans may have wondered if she delved into her role as deeply as Leto did. While taking part in a WIRED interview with her Mary Queen of Scots co-star Saoirse Ronan, Robbie was simply asked if she was Harley Quinn and this was her response.

“I am not Harley Quinn but I play Harley Quinn.”

So it looks like if you’re co-starring with Robbie in a Harley Quinn film then you don’t have to worry about receiving any disturbing gifts. Robbie’s Harley Quinn will next be seen in the DC Extended Universe film Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which hits theaters in February of 2020.
