Mark Millar Netflix Jupiter's Legacy

The first trailer for Mark Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy series on Netflix has finally made its way online.

Netflix is bringing yet another comic book series to life as the first trailer arrives online for Jupiter’s Legacy, from Kick-Ass and Kingsman writer Mark Millar. Back in March the streaming service revealed the first look at the series with a series of stills showing off the impressive costumes and the characters who will take center stage in the show when Jupiter’s Legacy arrives on the platform in May, 2021. The new footage briefly teased the history of the Caped Crusaders, explaining that they’ve been around for 90 years – but that society has grown tired of them.

The story mainly focuses on the children of heroes like Josh Duhamel’s Utopian, who struggle to live up to the expectations placed on them because of who they’re related to. For those that haven’t read the comics from Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, they analyse and deconstruct the superhero genre from a real-world perspective, exploring superheroes and their effect on capitalism and the economy as well as punching bad guys in the face. The footage suggests it’ll be a faithful adaptation of the series, starting with the mysterious island where the Union (the team of heroes led by the Utopian) get their impressive abilities. Take a look at the first trailer for Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy below.

Based on Mark Millar’s comic book series of the same name, Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy is set in the present day and centers on the revered first generation of superheroes, who received their powers in the 1930s, and their superpowered childrens’ struggle to live up to the legacy of their parents.
