Variety reports Mark Wahlberg has been cast as Sully opposite Tom Holland in Uncharted.
Sony’s feature film adaption of the Uncharted video game series is set to move forward with Tom Holland as lead hero Nathan Drake. Now, Variety has learned Mark Wahlberg is in final talks to join Tom Holland in Uncharted as Victor “Sully” Sullivan.
Mark Whalberg has previously been tapped to play Nathan Drake when David O. Russell was going to direct the Uncharted film. However, Sony eventually decided to move forward with a Nathan Drake origin story for the Uncharted film, with Tom Holland ultimately being cast as the young adventurer.
Now, Mark Wahlberg is returning to the project for the role of Sully, who will serve as a mentor to Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake. The character of Sully has appeared in multiple Uncharted adventures as a major character and ally to Drake.

Based on the PlayStation video game series of the same name, the Uncharted film is set to chronicle the first encounter between Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and the fortune seeker and businessman Victor Sullivan. The film is reportedly influenced by a sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Directed by Bumblebee helmer Travis Knight from a script written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins, Uncharted is being produced by Sony PlayStation Productions, with Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan producing alongside Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad. NaughtyDog is not involved with the project.
