Marvel Reveals ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania’ Characters & Synopsis

Quantumania sounds like a blast!

Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania Paul Rudd Scott Lang

Marvel has revealed new details about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ahead of the movie’s premiere next month.

With the second Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer now available on the web, Marvel has dropped an official synopsis for the movie. It reads as follows: “Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.”

In addition to the synopsis, Marvel has also revealed four characters that are set to appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. David Dastmalchian is Veb, Katy O’Brian is Jentorra, William Jackson Harper is Quaz and Bill Murray is Lord Krylar.

David Dastmalchian previously appeared in the last two Ant-Man movies as Kurt Goreshter, a close friend of Scott Lang and one of the founding members of X-Con Security Consultants. His character Veb appears to be an original creation for Quantumania, so he joins a small list of actors who have played multiple roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Ant-Man series evolves

Fittingly enough, Paul Rudd’s standalone Ant-Man movies have been small in scale compared to other solo films in the MCU. However, given Scott Lang’s integral role in Endgame, he has since become a vital part of the Avengers, and his contributions involving science thanks to his collaboration with Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) have certainly been integral. Now that Kang the Conqueror is involved, it’s safe to say that this will be Lang’s biggest threat yet.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was directed Peyton Reed from a script written by Jeff Loveness. The film is currently slated to hit theaters on February 17, 2023.
