Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ To Be Honored With Hollywood Film Award

Marvel fans rejoice! Black Panther is set to receive this year’s Hollywood Film Award.

There’s still quite a while before fans will get to learn what the 2019 Academy Award nominations will be. This year, fans around the world are waiting to see whether or not the Academy will grant Black Panther some major nominations but given the Academy’s past with superhero films that break tradition, they are worried that it won’t get the treatment it deserves.

Even if Black Panther doesn’t win big at the Oscars, the film is still on track to receive a coveted industry award that will officially kick off the awards season. Black Panther will be given the honorary Hollywood Film Award when the ceremony takes place this Sunday, November 4th. Hopefully, this will lead the way to the film earning a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars, which Disney and Marvel are certainly campaigning for.

Along with this film being honored on Sunday, another long-awaited superhero film from Disney will also be getting some major recognition, and it’s not Avengers: Infinity War. This summer’s Incredibles 2 will be honored with the Hollywood Animation Award. Other Marvel honorees at the ceremony will be Black Panther production designer Hannah Beachler, and Avengers: Infinity War‘s Dan Deleeuw, Kelly Port, Russel Earl and Dan Sudick for their work on the film’s visual effects.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Black Panther and its journey to the Oscars as soon as more information becomes available. Which Academy Awards would you like to see Black Panther receive/be nominated for? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
